Walt Disney World Cast Members To Debut New Nametags Tomorrow
Walt Disney World cast members will debut an all-new nametag starting tomorrow!
The time-honored Disney tradition of cast member nametags is getting an update. For over 50 years, the Walt Disney World cast has worn Disney nametags as a symbol of connection to other guests, each other, and The Most Magical Place on Earth.
Taking Inspiration From Disney Magic
For the new tags, costume designer Joshua Winchester was inspired by the combination of twinkly stars and pixie dust’s magic.
“The singular, golden star above Cinderella Castle represents our cast who are the guiding light of the Walt Disney World Resort,” said Joshua, “while the field of stars represents that little sprinkling of pixie dust our cast carry while making magic for our guests.”
Additionally, the dreamy, misty blue of the new tags was inspired by the color palette from Disney’s animated film Cinderella. The new nametags also feature a glossy finish, which adds a little sparkle to the stars themselves.
As any Walt Disney World visitor knows, cast member nametags helped connect the cast to guests by relaying the wearer’s hometime and name.
Disney PhotoPass Magic
Thanks to Disney PhotoPass and Tinker Bell, Walt Disney World cast members were able to celebrate their new nametags with a unique interactive lens.
I for one can’t wait to see the new cast member nametags debut tomorrow, how about you?
