Today Is Disney’s Q2 Earnings Report – Here’s What to Expect
Keep following along with MickeyBlog this afternoon as the Walt Disney Company will be reporting on their quarterly earnings this evening. With this in mind, Wall Street is already making predictions on what the company’s financial reporting might reveal.

With the current writer’s strike, company layoffs, and more, there could be a myriad of questions raised when Bob Iger addresses investors this afternoon.
Tuning Into Disney’s Q2 Earnings Report
The Walt Disney Company will discuss its fiscal second-quarter earnings for 2023 via a live audio webcast that will start at 4:30pm EST this afternoon (May 10, 2023.) It should be noted that results will be released after the close of regular trading for the day.

As CNBC points out, Disney is in financial recovery mode within most of its divisions including theme parks, theatrical entertainment, and more. In addition, we’ve seen growth at Disney+, the company’s streaming network, start to slow down with advertising revenue across the platform also taking a hit.
Wall Street and Disney Investors, will be paying close attention to plans that Iger, now back as CEO of the company will put into place for the future while still maintaining focus on a succession plan.
Some additional key talking points for this afternoon’s earning reports are also expected to include Disney’s federal lawsuit again stFlorida Gov. Ron DeSantis over control of the Reedy Creek Improvement District. Disney calls, De Santis’ action as being a retribution campaign against Disney for their criticism of the DeSantis administration’s controversial “Don’t Say Gay” bill.
Also expected to be on this afternoon’s agenda is the writers’ strike which will undoubtedly have an impact on upcoming Disney releases including Marvel’s Blade and the Star Wars project Andor both of which were expected to be in production this month.
Lastly, Disney has also told investors to expect a third wave of layoffs. Seven thousand Disney employees already have already been laid off across a wide range of different segments. It is anticipated that Iger will shed some light on plans for further staff reductions expected to take place this year.
