May 9th was a slower day in Disney history, but it featured the debut of a Donald Duck cartoon, an important date for the Disney family, and the end of an EPCOT attraction. So, let’s get started.
A Good Time For A Dime Released (1941)
On this day in 1941, the Donald Duck cartoon A Good Time For A Dime was released.
In the cartoon, Donald visits a penny arcade where he finds Daisy dancing in a Nickelodeon show.
For Whom The Bull Toil Released (1953)
On this day in 1953, the Goofy cartoon For Whom the Bulls Toil was released.
In the cartoon, Goofy is drafted into being a matador by local Mexican villagers.
Diane Disney and Ron Miller Married (1954)
On this day in 1954, Diane Disney married Ron Miller.
Walt’s son-in-law would eventually become CEO of Walt Disney Productions in 1983.
Honey, I Shrunk The Audience Closes (2010)
On this day in 2010, Honey, I Shrunk the Audience closed at EPCOT.
The 3D film had been operating in the Journey Into Imagination pavilion since 1994.
Tomorrowland Premiers (2015)
On this day in 2015, Tomorrowland premiered at the AMC Theater in Downtown Disney.
The film starred Goerge Clooney and Britt Robertson. It would open in U.S theaters on May 22.
