A Guide to Choosing the Perfect Walt Disney World Resort Hotel When Traveling with Little Ones
Congrats! You’re going on a Walt Disney World vacation! Now, for the next step, deciding on the perfect Walt Disney World Resort Hotel. While always an important decision, if you have little ones in tow, that decision is going to be even more important to creating a stress-free and magical trip. But, have no fear: I’m here to help break it all down and pick the perfect Walt Disney World Hotel when traveling with little ones!
First things first, staying on property is a must if you want to be in the middle of the magic. From the amazing transportation options to yummy on-site character dining, staying onsite at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel is the only way to go for a stress-free vacation.
When it comes to selecting which exact Walt Disney World Resort Hotel to stay at with little ones, one of my top picks is Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. In addition to the over-the-top theming, larger families can choose a family suite that sleeps up to six Guests and offers two, full-size bathrooms. The toughest decision you will make will be to choose the Lion King family suite, the Cars family suite, or The Finding Nemo family suite.
Another perk of staying at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort is the transportation. In addition to the buses that bring Guests back and forth from all four theme parks, water parks, and Disney Springs, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort also offers the popular Disney Skyliner.
The Disney Skyliner connects Disney’s Art of Animation to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and EPCOT and makes it even easier to get back and forth for those mid-day breaks. The Disney Skyliner is also offered at Disney’s Riviera Resort, Disney’s Pop Century Resort, and Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort.
The Monorail is another uber-popular mode of Disney transportation. It connects the Magic Kingdom and EPCOT is available for those staying at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort, and Disney’s Polynesian Resort.
Speaking of Disney’s Contemporary Resort, it’s another one of my top picks for families visiting Walt Disney World with little ones. In addition to the convenience of the Monorail, it’s also right next door to the Magic Kingdom making it easy to just walk back and forth.
Once you get back to your Walt Disney World Resort Hotel for a midday break, you definitely want to check out the pools! All Resort Hotels offers Guests a pool and some even have splash pads that are perfect for the little one including the Schoolyard Spraygrouned at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort and the Kiki Tiki Splash Play Area at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. Don’t forget the water slides too that are available at all moderate and above Walt Disney World Resort Hotels!
In addition to the pool all on property Resort Hotels offers several activities throughout the day and night including crafts, trivia, nighttime Movies Under the Stars, and even campfires perfect for creating the perfect s’mores!
Now, on to my favorite thing – food! And, the selections at Walt Disney World Resort Hotels are endless!
If you are staying at Disney’s Riviera Resort, you have to check out the breakfast character dining experience at Topolino’s. There’s also the iconic Chef Mickey’s at Disney’s Contemporary Resort.
If you are looking to take a walk on the wild side, a meal at Sanaa is a must-do! What’s better than enjoying their delicious bread service while the safari animals frolic outside?!
In addition to character and table service dining experiences, all onsite Walt Disney World Resort Hotels offer quick-service dining options where the selections are endless.
