Meet Disney Cast Member Peter Olivo. Olivo is an opening day cast member of Disney’s Animal Kingdom and a Vietnam War veteran.
Peter served as a U.S. Army infantry Soldier during the Vietnam War and received a Purple Heart for injuries sustained during the war.
In 1998, Peter was an opening cast member for Disney’s Animal Kingdom and has worked as an attraction host for over 25 years.
Special Recognition
Peter was recently honored and recognized for his military service and his time with Disney prior to his retirement.
He was honored with a special sunrise ceremony at Animal Kingdom surrounded by his wife, fellow cast members, Walt Disney World Resort Ambassador Ali Manion, Disney’s Animal Kingdom vice president, Sarah Riles, and Disney SALUTE Veteran affinity group co-chair Cappy Surette.
Peter was presented with a special American flag flown over the Disney park.
