Sharing Magic Through Storytelling
When asked how Disney has helped him touch hearts around the world, he shares, “when anyone sees themselves onscreen, whether it’s how they look, experiences they’ve had, or emotions they’ve felt, there’s an amazing connection that can form between audiences and the stories they feel a part of.”
Bush shares that he grew up watching Disney animated films like The Jungle Book, The Little Mermaid, and Peter Pan. He says “the entertainment and wonder immediately grabbed me.”
When it comes to storytelling, Bush attributes teamwork as an important part of the process. He shares, “collaboration with unbelievably talented people who think and create in different ways than I do…As a storyteller, it’s an incredible luxury.”
He adds that “combined imagination” helps him realize his vision at Disney. “Our stories are not ‘one vision’,” but rather the “shared vision of many people.”
Bush says he still can’t believe that this is his life! When his stories resonate with audiences, it’s a “dream come true.”
He concludes “my only new dream is to be able to keep doing what I’m doing… forever.” Jared Bush has shared the magic through so many beloved Disney stories; looking forward to seeing more projects from this talented writer in the future!
