This Day in Disney History- March 21

On this day in 1947, the Pluto cartoon Rescue Dog was released.

Two Chips and a Miss Released (1952)
On this day in 1952, the Chip ‘n Dale cartoon Two Chips and a Miss was released.

The cartoon featured Chip and Dale vying for the affections of Clarice, a new character.
The One and Only, Genuine, Original, Family Band Released (1968)
On this day in 1968, The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band was released.
The film told the story of the musically talented Bower family, who settle in the Dakota Territory.

Mission to Mars Opens (1975)
On this day in 1975, Mission to Mars opened in Disneyland.

Designed in cooperation with NASA, the attraction let guests experience a trip to Mars. The show replaced Flight to the Moon.
Escape to Witch Mountain Released (1975)
Also on this day in 1975, Escape to Witch Mountain was released.

The film told the story of two orphan children named Tia and Tony who have extraordinary powers.
Tomorrowland Renovation Announced (1996)
On this day in 1996, Disneyland unveiled ins plans to renovate Tomorrowland.
At this time, Disney announced that the PeopleMover would be replaced by the thrill ride Rocket Rods.
Piglets Big Movie Released (2003)
On this day in 2003, Piglet’s Big Movie was released.

In the film, when Piglet goes missing, his friends use the little pigs “Book of Memories” to find him.
Muppets Most Wanted Released (2014)
Finally, on this day in 2014, Muppets Most Wanted was released.

A sequel to the 2011 film The Muppets, the film saw the familial troupe unwittingly involved in an international crime spree.
