It’s the first day of the spectacular springtime festival, and everywhere we look in EPCOT right now we can see blooms, beauty… and Orange Bird!
The citrus-sweet festival mascot has been appearing on apparel, accessories, and all sorts of must-have merch, but we think this next item we found bearing his face has to be the tastiest yet.
Head on over to Connections Café with us, as we try the sweetest new limited-edition treat on the menu!
It’s the Orange Bird Liege Waffle!
Putting a fun festival twist on the classic Liege waffle dessert, this cute treat is sure to fill up your Insta feeds over the coming weeks – and you saw it here first. Our MickeyBlogger Miranda has placed her waffle order, so let’s give it a try and see how it is!
If you’ve ever visited — or even heard of — Connections Café at EPCOT, you’re bound to be familiar with their signature Liege Waffle dessert. These super-sugary waffles are a constant on their bakery menu, yet the chefs have been consistently releasing fun, limited-edition versions of the treat in commemoration of various Epcot events.
There was one to celebrate the park’s 40th anniversary, one for Pride Month, a Valentine’s Day waffle, and a Figment design released for the International Festival of the Arts earlier this year. Now we’re into Flower & Garden it’s Orange Bird’s time to shine — and all that orange coloring sure is giving us warm, Florida gardening-weather vibes!
This limited-time version of the waffle comes with a cute chocolate card featuring a grinning Orange Bird, with the dessert itself rolled in orange icing and orange sugar flakes. It’s worth noting that this isn’t actually orange-flavored — just orange in color!
Miranda shared with us that, other than the fun design elements, this treat is just the same as the other Liege waffle offerings at EPCOT.
Its high sugar content is sure to give you a buzz if you’re ever lagging after a busy day in the park, and its photogenic qualities are sure to make it a popular pick, too!
If you’re looking to try this out for yourself, it costs $4.19 from Connections Café. Be sure to try it out before the festival finishes in July!
