BREAKING: Akoya Pearls is Finally Back!
One of the last holdouts from the COVID-19 pandemic reopened today, when Akoya Pearls welcomed guests for the first time in three years.
The custom picked jewelry store has not operated since Walt Disney World closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic in March, 2020.
Pick Your Own Pearl
Located inside the Japan pavilion’s Mitsukoshi store, Akoya Pearls lets guests chose an oyster from a shallow tank of water. A Cast Member then opens the oyster, revealing the pearl that guests have picked!
Usually, you will get a white pearl, but there are occasionally gold, black and blue pearls!
After selecting their pearl, guests have the option of getting their pearl set in jewelry. Options include, rings, pendants and even earrings.
Here is a look at some of the different kinds of jewelry offered.
Finally, here is a look at some of the necklace options!
A Welcome Return
Everyone inside Akoya Pearls was all smiles today, as Cast Members greeted guests for the first time in years.
The store remains a popular place to get both custom jewelry and a unique experience!
If you have never visited Akoya Pearls before, make sure you do on your next trip to EPCOT. Choosing your own oyster is quite the thrill, and the Cast Member’s excitement to see what you chose is infectious. They even bang a drum!
What Does It Cost?
A “pearl ticket” at Akoya Pearls cost $20 after tax. The store then offers a wide variety of jewelry options that are great for any budget!
Even if jewelry isn’t your thing, you can still take your peal home in a bag or a box and have a great souvenir of your trip to EPCOT.
