The Earl of Sandwich Returns to Downtown Disney

Attention all Disneyland fans, your long national nightmare is almost over. The Earl of Sandwich will make its triumphant return to Downtown Disney on Wednesday.

A long-time staple of Downtown Disney’s West End, the restaurant was closed in January 2022 as part of the larger reimagining of the West End.

Now, just over a year after its disappearance, Earl of Sandwich will be open for business. The question remains however, how long will it stay open for?

Limited Time Magic

The new version of Earl of Sandwich will be coming to the former La Brea Bakery location. Here, guests will be able to get their hot sandwiches in grab-and-go form at the Earl of Sandwich. Interestingly, guests will also be able to try out the table service options of the Earl of Sandwich Tavern.

While the Earl’s return is certainly exciting news, it is currently unclear how long this version of the restaurant will remain open. The building that will house the Earl of Sandwich is earmarked to the be the future home of the Porto’s Bakery, where guests will be able to get Cheese Rolls, California-Cuban cuisine and more.

Disney and Earl of Sandwich are collaborating on the new pop-up location, which is expected to fill guests’ dining needs for the next couple of months.

So, if you are an Earl of Sandwich fan, be sure to visit while you can! The Downtown Disney mainstay won’t be around forever.

Official Opening Date

The Earl of Sandwich will officially open on Wednesday, February 1.

According to reporter Scott Gustin, the restaurant will open at 11am on Wednesday and Thursday. Beginning Friday, it will  return to its regular opening time of 8am.
