New Marie Wall Clock Scurries into the World of Disney
Remember Disney’s 1970 film the Aristocats? The romantic comedy starred Phil Harris as Thomas O’Malley, a feral cat who befriends Dutchess (Eva Gabor) and her three kittens Toulouse, Berlioz and Marie.
In a lot of ways the film is a Disney classic. It has an engaging story and memorable character. It even has and a song, “Ev’rybody Wants to Be a Cat”, that most Disney fans know.
Despite this, the film is mostly forgotten. This is largely because it was released following the death of Walt Disney, but before the Disney Renaissance.
Although the film has remained a deep cut, one character, Marie, has seen her popularity boom since the release of the film. In spite of the minor role she played in the Aristocats, Marie is usually the only cast member to appear on merchandise or even as a meet and greet character.
While the young female kitten clearly fits a niche that Disney is missing in its arsenal of characters, it is crazy to see how prevalent Marie is amongst Walt Disney World merchandise.
Case and point, over at the World of Disney shop today, we came upon a Marie wall clock!
The wall clock is very elaborate, featuring a full body Marie holding the clock between her four paws.
Marie is given a classic deign here, and the clock is meant to look wooden and somewhat old.
There is no denying that Marie is a cute kitten (Ken Anderson), and this clock is adorable! Even those who are unfamiliar with the Aristocats will enjoy the design of this clock!
Right now the Marie wall clock is selling for $59.99 at the World of Disney store. So, if you are planning on visiting Disney Springs, be sure to check it out!
