NEW Mickey Mouse: The Main Attraction Big Thunder Mountain Series Flies in to Disney Springs!
Get ready for the wildest haul in the wilderness, as the brand new series of merchandise from the Mickey Mouse: The Main Attraction collection has just chugged in to Disney Springs!
And did you know Big Thunder Mountain Railroad officially opened on this date in 1980?!
Throughout this past year, Disney merchandise collectors have been avidly following the release of the Mickey Mouse: The Main Attraction collection.
It’s a monthly release of fun items inspired by a different Disney Parks attraction.
We’ve been excitedly awaiting this next series, which takes us over to the dusty wilderness of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad!
Yep, this new collection of items is inspired by the wildest runaway train coaster, so hold on to your hats and glasses, and let’s go take a look!
Mickey Mouse Plush
The first piece in this collection is this adorable Mickey Mouse plush doll!
Gorgeously soft and smiling, this pie-eyed Mickey is dressed just like a Big Thunder miner, in a functional work outfit in hues of denim, brown and burnt orange. Complete with boots, gloves, suspenders, and a hat – he looks ready for a hard day on the mountain!
In an adorable extra detail, the reverse side of Mickey’s ear features the Walt Disney World 50th Anniversey logo, embroidered on in gold thread.
This is a beautifully snuggly souvenir from the anniversary, and makes a great addition to the Mickey Mouse: Main Attraction collection!
The plush doll costs $34.99. Will he be accompanying you on your next trip up Big Thunder Mountain?
Collectible Key
Next in the set is this dazzling collectible key ornament, which costs $29.99.
Like all the keys in this series, the handle of the piece resembles a Mickey head logo, and the “teeth” of the key is the outline of Cinderella Castle, complete with that iconic 50th anniversary logo.
But, it’s the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad touches that really make this key so awesome! The long stem of the key is made up of curvy railroad track, complete with a train cart staggering along.
There are red mountains peaking up, and the cogs of the Mickey head depict the “BTM” logo – signifying Big Thunder Mountain, of course! So cute!
Mickey Mouse Pin
With all good Disney merchandise releases, there always comes a matching commemorative pin!
Like the other pins in the Mickey Mouse: Main Attraction collection, this pin depicts a pie-eyed Mickey Mouse, tapping his foot in that iconic pose we all know and love. But, instead of his usual red-shorts garb, he’s dressed just like a worker on Big Thunder Mountain, in a matching outfit to the plush doll we showed you earlier!
The details on this stunning pin really are something, right from the stitching on Mickey’s workboots to the “BTM” logo printed on his shirt collar.
Will this pin be affixed to your trading lanyard any time soon? It costs $29.99.
Loungefly Mini Backpack
Now, we’ve saved the most spectacular item of this haul until last.
It’s the one you’ve all been waiting for: the Loungefly mini backpack! These backpacks from the ever-fabulous designers over at Loungefly are always popular pieces, and each bag from the Mickey Mouse: Main Attraction collection has been a hit so far!
Like the others in the collection, this mini backpack features Mickey ears, and a front pocket designed to resemble Mickey’s iconic shorts.
But, it’s the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad design that really sets this bag apart from the rest, so let’s take a closer look at those amazing details!
The main body of the bag is a warm red tone in color, with a paisley-pattern depicting tiny Mickey icons and the “BTM” Big Thunder Mountain logo interspersed throughout.
In contrast, one ear of the bag and the front pocket portion are made from a denim material, matching the plush Mickey we showed you earlier!
The denim ear also features the “BTM” logo, proudly embroidered in a golden thread that shimmers like the gold buried deep inside Big Thunder Mountain.
The iconic peaks of the mountain are then printed on the other ear, in a dreamy landscape that transports us right to Frontierland!
The faux-leather bag is finished with that signature Disney Parks x Loungefly metal tag, and the 50th anniversary logo is also printed on the reverse side of the backpack in a glittering gold.
The backpack costs $85.99. Will you be wearing it on your next trip to Thunder Mesa?
Our MickeyBloggers found all of these items over at World of Disney in Disney Springs. They’re bound to be popular pieces, so make sure you head on over there quickly so as not to miss out!
Unfortunately, we have yet to spot the Mickey Ear headband, which will be the final item to make up the Big Thunder Mountain series of the Main Attraction collection.
However, we are keeping our eyes peeled, so stay tuned to MickeyBlog.com as we’ll let you know as soon as we find them!
