NEW Details and First Looks at Disney Treasure and Lighthouse Point
Here at MickeyBlog we are still trying to process all the exciting announcements from Sunday’s Disney Parks, Experiences and Products Panel at D23!
Disney Treasure
One of the BIG announcements was introducing the 6th Disney Cruise Ship, the Disney Treasure!
Disney assures us that the Disney Treasure’s design will be unlike anything we have seen before. Which is crazy to think about considering the Disney Wish blew our expectations out of the water!
Adventure awaits aboard the NEW Disney Treasure which is inspired by Walt Disney’s love of exploration.
Disney Imagineers, the world’s best storytellers, are creating immersive experiences that will be based on unforgetable Disney tales.
Let’s dive in and take a sneak peek at the Grand Hall aboard the Disney Treasure!
The grand hall will invite guests to embrace adventure with Asian and African influences.
In fact, Agrabah is well represented with Aladdin, Princess Jasmine and the Magic Carpet welcoming guests into the Grand Hall.
The Disney Treasure is scheduled to be delivered in 2024. And, similar to the Disney Wish, the Disney Treasure will be powered by liquified natural gas and feature 1,254 staterooms.
Lighthouse Point
Next, Disney Parks Chairman Josh D’Amaro gave us a first look at Disney’s new island destination, Lighthouse Point.
Lighthouse Point is located on the island of Eleuthera in the Bahamas.
Disney is working closely with Bahamian artists and advisors to create a destination that represents the natural beauty and rich culture of the Bahamas, brought to life through Disney storytelling and the unparalleled service of local cast and crew. It will be a vibrant beach retreat infused with the color and energy of Bahamian artistry. – Disney Parks Blog
Lighthouse Point will feature a recreation center, dining options, shopping, a water playground, pristine white sand beaches and more!
A cultural pavilion will give guests the opportunity to become immersed in the stories and traditions of local families.
Conservation & Energy
The Walt Disney Company is continuing their conservation efforts. On the new island destination, Disney is committed to using only 20% of the property on the island.
Additionally, Disney will also provide 90% percent of Lighthouse Point’s power from solar energy, utilize sustainable building practices, and donate more than 190 acres land to the Bahamian government.
