RECIPE: Make Your Own Star Wars-Themed Ice Pops
You’re about to be feeling The Force on National Ice Cream Day! With the hot temperatures, we thought this would be the perfect time to share a quick and easy recipe for adorable Star Wars Ice Cream Pops. Following the steps below you could be making both Darth Vader and Stormtrooper treats that are sure to make fans of all ages smile.
Best of all, the small yield recipes mean that you can enjoy the treats with minimal waste.
Darth Vader Retro Ice Cream Pop
Makes 3 bars
Ingredients:
- 1 pint chocolate ice cream
- 3 popsicle sticks
- 3/4 cup chocolate shell syrup
- 5 ounces dark chocolate, melted
- 6 red candy-coated chocolate pieces
Step 1: Line a quarter sheet pan with parchment paper and a wire rack.
Step 2: Remove the top of the ice cream carton, turn the pint on its side. Use a sharp knife and cut the pint (still in the carton) into three even slices. Then peel of the outer packaging and cut the edges (like in the image above to form a helmet. Place the sticks into the bottom of each slight. Place the pops onto a prepped sheet pain and return to the freezer for 20 minutes.
Step 3: After the ice cream has hardened, remove pops from the freezer and pour the chocolate syrup over the pop. Add two red chocolate candies to create the eyes. Place back in the freezer for another 20 minutes.
Step 4: Take some of the melted dark chocolate and place it into a piping bag. Use a #3 tip to pipe the extra helmet details onto the cake pop. Freeze until ready to serve.
Stormtrooper Retro Ice Cream Pop
Yield: Makes 3 bars

- 1 pint vanilla ice cream
- 3 popsicle sticks
- 5 ounces dark chocolate, melted
- 6 brown candy-coated chocolate pieces
Step 1: Prep a quarter sheet pan with parchment paper.
