Salt & Straw Reveals Summer Picnic Flavors Coming to Disney Springs and Downtown Disney
If you haven’t been to Salt & Straw ice cream shop at either Disney Springs and Downtown Disney you don’t know what your missing. A fan favorite, Salt & Straw is known for there artisanal ice cream in a myriad of new and exciting flavors and their new summer options are no exception.
Disney Springs took to social media to give us a look at Salt & Straw’s new Summer Picnic flavors and we can’t wait to try a few of these varieties. Let’s take a look:
I popped over to the Salt & Straw website to grab the details on the Summer Picnic Series in this series and am excited to share those with you below. Think checkered blankets, big fluffy clouds, a leisurely summer afternoon and one of these glorious flavors!
Cinnamon & Honey Fried Chicken – Slightly savory and evocatively spiced with sudden pops of crackling texture, this ice cream brings together the unprecedented marriage of ice cream and fried chicken. Salt & Straw starts with fresh croissants torn to bits, deep-fried chicken fat ’til crispy which are then churned into salted vanilla ice cream. There’s also a very special ingredient that will at a bit of heat.
Deviled Egg Custard With Smoked Blacked Tea – This flavor starts with an egg yolk custard laced with Kala Namak, an umami-rich black salt mined near the base of the Himalayas, studded with crumbles of smoked tea-infused shortbread. It is then topped off with a peach balsamic egg white marshmallow fluff.
Pink Rose and Watermelon Sorbet – For this sorbet Salt & Straw starts with a ripe watermelon and rose punch. This is then drizzled with house-made raspberry rose jam for a crisp tartness that balances perfectly with the sweetness of the wine which is from Sokol Blosser Winery.
Baked Bree & Fig Cheesecake – This flavor begins with a whipped brie cheesecake baked on a Ritz cracker crust with ribbons of sweet fig jam. Cowgirl Creamery supplies the melt-in-your-mouth buttery cheesecake.
