Limited Edition Star Wars Day Pins Celebrate Galaxy Far, Far Away
Bright suns, Star Wars fans! In one of the absolute best days of the year for fans of epic franchise, Disney’s Hollywood Studios burst with new merchandise this morning celebrating May the 4th, better known as Star Wars Day. MickeyBloggers Greg and Elyssa joined the merchandise virtual queue early this morning to give us a first glimpse at the out-of-this-world selections, including the limited edition pins.
The penultimate collectible pin features the “May the 4th Be With You” mantra set in Star Wars typography and on the traditional movie title slant. Taking on a bold red in the signage, the pin’s coloration for the “Star Wars Day” logo and the commemorative year appears a bit more orange-toned for the pin itself.
The $54.99 jumbo pin definitely shows a darker side of the Star Wars franchise, featuring six bounty hunters tasked with hunting down Han Solo by Darth Vadar. Of course, Boba Fett appears on the pin and other merchandise after his successful show recently on Disney+.
Dengar and 4-LOM flank Boba Fett with Bossk, IG-88 and Zuckuss running across the bottom. Those five did not appear in the Boba Fett show, instead appearing first in “Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back” and then “Clone Wars.”
Grogu shares the Force in another limited edition pin released for today’s special events. The twin suns of Tatooine shine behind The Child.
The $17.99 pin makes the perect addition to Star Wars pins collections. Unlike the bounty hunter jumbo pin, the red also really pops in this design.
Oga’s, Darth, and Obi-Won Pins Drop Too
In a retro move, two other pins celebrate the franchise’s original Sith and Jedi, Darth Vader and Obi-Wan Kenobi. Reminiscent of the 1970s action figures, the $19.99 pins capture the nostalgic side of the Star Wars legacy.
Oga’s Cantina also gets a new pin today, utilizing its logo in the center with Aurebesh surrounding the beverage icon. The design captures the coasters used at the cantina at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. These pins also open to reveal the Oga’s DJ, Rex. Pins for Ronto Roasters and Droid Depot, two other features of the immersive land, also dropped today.
Stay tuned for more excitement from Disney’s Hollywood Studios today as the May the 4th festivities continue. ‘Til the Spire, friends!
