TRON Coaster Construction Impacting Light & Power Co.
MickeyBlog spent the morning at Magic Kingdom where we popped by to take a closer looked at the TRON Coaster construction. As we reported over the weekend, the canopies of the TRON coaster are now completed and work is currently being done on the walkways to and from the attraction.
At the moment, this is having an impact on the Tomorrowland Light & Power Co.
Construction walls are up around one side of the shop as crews start to work on the walkways leading to the TRON coaster.
This includes the closure of one of the entrances to the Light & Power Co. gift shop.
Black fabric is covering up the doors closest to the TRON Coaster.
Below you can see another area blocked off.
From atop the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover you can see workers setting up barricades around the shop.
The shop also sits next to Tomorrowland Speedway.
It looks like the walkway will run from the TRON Coaster to the front of Light & Power Co.
Construction is impacting the entire back corner of the Light & Power Co. which is where we saw things blocked inside the shop.
Now let’s take another look at the TRON coaster.
The structure is looking absolutely stunning with the roof now completed on the outdoor canopies.
The structure is really awe-inspiring. You need to see it in person.
There is an indoor portion of the ride before clients zoom out underneath the canopies.
The canopies will be lit to give guests the feeling that they’re soaring through cyberspace!
Work is still being carried out to the grounds surrounding the attraction.
This includes new tracks being laid for the Walt Disney World Railroad.
Above you can see the ramp up to the attraction but its still somewhat incomplete.
As of going to print, Disney has yet to announce and official opening date for the Magic Kingdom attraction.
We’ll be interested to see how long it takes Disney to make the final touches to the coaster.
