TSA, Major Airlines No Longer Enforcing Mask Mandate
Earlier today, we reported that a federal judge in Florida overturned the Center for Disease Control (CDC)’s current mask mandate for all passengers and crew in the United States flying on domestic flights and along with other modes of mass public transportation. The judge ruled that the CDC has not provided proof to support the mandate and that it “overstepped its authority.”
Shortly after the ruling came down, the White House announced they would review and it decide if an appeal would be filed. The also stated that the Travel Security Administration (TSA) will suspend enforcing the mask mandate. The TSA has confirmed this suspension in mask protocol.

Following in line with the TSA, most major airlines have also announced that they will no longer require masks on domestic flights and will also require masks on international flights where the arrival destination has a mask mandate in place.
Delta Airlines tweeted:

There are even reports that the news has been communicated to passengers and crew who are currently in-flight and immeditately after the news was announced, masks began being tossed to the wayside:
My kids are on a @delta flight right this second and report that the crew made an announcement about the federal judge repealing the mask mandate, and apparently people cheered and immediately tore off their masks.

American Airlines, SouthWest Airlines, and Amtrack also annoucned their would be ending their mask mandates “effective immediately.”

With the mask mandate ending at the federal level, we checked with Walt Disney World to see if masks were no longer required on the Monorail and buses as Disney has been following direction from the TSA. A security officer we spoke with said they were aware of the change but no changes had been made….yet.
Masks are currently optional for Guests at Walt Disney World and Disneyland in all other areas of the parks and resorts.
