REVIEW: Vino Wednesday (aka Half Priced Wine Day!) at Jaleo
Jaleo’s unmistakable architecture and picturesque location along the waterways of Disney Springs make for the seemingly perfect splurge-worthy dinner location. It constantly surprises me when my friends and family tell me not only that they’ve never dined there, but in a lot of cases have never even HEARD of the restaurant!
I’m here to not only introduce you to one of Disney Springs’ most often overlooked restaurants, but to let you in on my incredible dining experience during a recent Vino Wednesday, and why you should visit on a Wednesday too…let’s get into it!
Vino Wednesday
Serving Spanish-inspired small plates, entrees, and their famous paella, there are so many dishes to choose from on the menu that will suit even the pickiest of eaters’ palettes.
While they do serve full entrees and paella, my favorite way to dine at Jaleo is to order a number of small plates to share among the table. It’s the best way to get a true taste of what the restaurant has to offer without committing to one thing! Many of the small plates’ titles are in Spanish, but don’t hesitate to ask your server for a recommendation- they are extremely knowledgeable about the menu and are always eager to help.
I purposely dined at Jaleo on a Wednesday, when all of their bottles of wine are half price! The wine list is loaded with Spanish wines perfect for pairing with the chef curated dishes. There aren’t very many places you’ll find bottles of wine for under $30 on Disney Property. This deal happens each and every Wednesday, every week!
My favorite part of the meal was sampling the many small plates and choosing which plate paired the best with our bottle of Ontanon. We ordered pan con tomates, their delicous fennel and manchego salad, and a hearty serving of potatas bravas. The bursting fresh flavor from the tomatoes and the hearty, lightly fried flavor of the potatas bravas were the perfect accompaniment to our bottle of dry red wine.
Overall, everything from the food to the wine to the service was incredible. We opted to sit on the back patio overlooking the water. I can’t think of a more relaxing way to spend an evening than enjoying small plates on the patio, sipping wine, and watching the boats go by.
