Dining at Chef Mickey’s To Be Impacted by Marathon Events
If you’ll be dining at Chef Mickey’s this coming weekend or in late February, you’ll want to allow yourself extra time to get to and from the restaurant. Disney’s Contemporary Resort is one of the locations impact by runDisney events. You have both the Walt Disney World Marathon coming up this weekend and the Disney Princess Half Marathon next month.
The following notification has been added to the disneyworld.com website:
Though we’ve previously noted that construction noise can be heard at times from the main atrium of Disney’s Contemporary Resort due to room renovations, what’s new is that in addition, visitors may also be impacted by runDisney events happening at Walt Disney World soon.
First up is the Walt Disney World Marathon which takes places this coming weekend (January 8th and 9th.) Races take place in the morning so guests with breakfast/brunch reservations are the most likely to be impacted and you WILL want to all yourself extra time to get to your dining reservations.
In addition, those planning a visit to Chef Mickey’s at Disney’s Contemporary Resort at the end of next month may experience similar disruptions due to the Disney Princess Half Marathon which is taking place on February 27, 2022. Again this is likely to impact morning diners with disruptions expected from 4 am – 9 am.
If you plan to dine during these times, please allow for additional travel time. Those staying on property with reservations during the impacted dates above may also want to reconsider driving to the Contemporary and instead may want to take advantage of resort transportation.
For those unfamiliar, Chef Mickey’s is a popular character dining experience taking place at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. The eatery is typically open 7-days a week and offers breakfast from 7:30 am – 12:30pm and dinner from 5:00 pm – 9:30 pm. Reservations are highly encouraged and can be made up to 60 days in advance.
