Guardians of the Galaxy Painting Begins!
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is definitely one of Disney’s most anticipated new attractions, opening next Summer in Epcot. We’ve watched for nearly 4 years as construction took place behind walls and fences, tarps and facades; so it is particularly exciting to see progress on the exterior of the building! There is an end in site and that end is just a few months away!
Imagineer Zach Riddley posted on Instagram this week, first showing off the gorgeous star that is the centerpiece of the new Wonders of Xandar pavilion, where the new Guardians ride is located.

Yesterday we got another glimpse at what’s to come on the exterior of the building as Imagineers Wyatt Winter and Colleen Meyers shared the new paint scheme for the building, with work beginning immediately! See the whole Instagram video below.

Never ones to miss a storytelling opportunity, the “Xandarian aesthetic” was thoughtfully designed to enhance the architecture of the building as well as to add to the story of the Nova Corps’ arrival at Epcot. Guests should really feel like the space came straight from planet Xandar, like they are truly experiencing a piece of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

True to the concept art, the new Guardians paint is metallic shades of gray, blue and silver. Because of the reflective nature and natural lighting, the colors look different on different parts of the building at different times of day. It might look blue from one direction and silver from another. You’ll definitely see some purple, and maybe even some gold.

The new Wonders of Xandar pavilion is part of new Epcot’s World Discovery and will be the first other-worldly showcase pavilion in the park, replacing the former Universe of Energy.
