Colorful Ways to Celebrate Premiere of Disney’s ‘Encanto’
One of the highlights of Thanksgiving 2021 has to be the arrival of Disney’s latest animated feature Encanto. Not only is the the perfect movie to catch this holiday weekend but it also marks the 60th animated film from Disney!
For those unfamiliar, Encanto tells the story of an incredible family called the Madrigals who live in a magical house in Colombia in a whimsically wonderfully place called Encanto. Every child in the family is blessed with a unique gift except for Mirabel. When she discovers that magic is in danger she might just be the families last hope!
To celebrate Encanto, Disney has rounded up a handful of delightful ways to celebrate the film this weekend and throughout the holiday season.
Let’s start at Disney Springs in Walt Disney World. The AMC Theater will be having an Encanto red carpet experience throughout Thanksgiving weekend that includes a beautiful display, fun photo ops and more. Oh and don’t forget to see the film while you’re there!
Also, be sure to take a little bit of time before or after the movie to check out the new art displays near Jaleo and AMC Theater on the West Side of Disney Springs.
We definitely think they’d make the perfect background for some Instagram-worthy photos!
Each of the pieces at this display were created by Colombian artists. To the right of each photo you can read up on these incredible talented contributors.
There’s another installation over at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. You’ll find it near Creature Comforts on Discovery Island. Also be on the lookout for the Cotton-Top Tamarins which are native to Colombia and can be found near the display!
Speak of art exhibits, one of the stars of the film, Jessica Darrow, recently stopped by Disney Springs to celebrate the films release! Check out the video of her visit below!
The Encanto fun isn’t just limited to Walt Disney World, over at Disneyland Resort, you’ll find special appearances by the film’s protagonist Mirabel. Be on the lookout for her at Disney California Adventure park. Since Mirabel is from Colombia, she brings a new cultural perspective to the Mexico and Brazil-inspred “Disney ¡Viva Navidad!” festivities at Disney Festival of Holiday.
With Christmas just around the corner, we also thought we’d take some time to bring you some gift-giving inspiration.
