Captivating New Posters and Featurette Shared for Steven Spielberg’s “West Side Story”
In just over a month’s time, audiences are set to be captivated by Steven Spielberg’s highly-anticipated adaptation of West Side Story.
Tonight, (tonight) two new posters and a featurette have been released, and they’re absolutely dazzling!
Asad Ayaz, president of marketing for The Walt Disney Studios, just shared the incredible new promos over on Twitter.

Are you ready to be swept away? Let’s take a closer look…
The first of the two dazzling posters features the star-crossed protagonists themselves – Tony and Maria. Played by Ansel Elgort and newcomer Rachel Zegler, we can’t wait to see these two fall in love on the big screen.
Zegler has also recently been cast as Snow White in an upcoming remake of the classic Disney tale. From the previously-released trailer for West Side Story, we already know her voice is perfection. We look forward to hearing much more from her very soon!
The second poster features Ariana DeBose and David Alvarez dancing passionately as Anita and Bernardo.
The muted, vintage effect of these posters, alongside the patriotic ripple of the United States flag on each, really give off a dramatic vibe we just can’t wait to experience.

As well as the posters, Ayaz shared a sneak peek featurette of the movie in production.
Showing Spielberg direct his cast of incredibly talented performers, you can really see the passion and drive that went into this movie.
One thing to note from the featurette is that Spielberg states he is so “proud and honored” to be able to tell the story “based on the 1957 Broadway musical”. It is important to note that this movie is adapted from the original musical’s book, and not a remake of the 1961 film.
So, fans of the classic 1961 West Side Story need not worry – this adaptation isn’t looking to tread on any toes!
Featuring snippets of action-packed shots, dance sequences and emotion, this featurette sure is teasing us in anticipation of the movie’s release. And, with the track “America” playing in the background, we just want to get up and dance with the characters!
West Side Story will be released in theatres on December 10th. Will you be watching?
