Lightning Lane Signage Taken Down From “it’s a small world” and We Think We Know Why
MickeyBlog was at Magic Kingdom today where we noticed a slight change over at “it’s a small world.”
Earlier this month, “it’s a small world” had been given it’s very own Lightning Lane sign at the entrance to the attraction.
However, today, the same sign is nowhere to be found.
Though it seems odd to have the signage there and then not we suspect that Disney is revamping some of their Lightning Lane signs.
We’ve spent a lot of time capturing images of the new Lightning Lane signs and can report that they are not ALL created equal.
Some of the attractions have permanent signs that look almost as if they’ve always been there. while others (I’m looking at you Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion and “it’s a small world” look like big decals have just been placed on quickly.
We wouldn’t be surprised if in the days ahead (before Disney Genie officially launches on October 19th) that we see some of these signs getting a bit of an upgrade.
In case you missed it, Lightning Lanes are the new Fastpasses and Disney has introduced a new program called Disney Genie+ where guests purchase front of the line access in advance.
This is part of a big upgrade to the My Disney Experience app with a new Disney Genie component that guests can use to plan out personalized itineraries, check wait times etc.
Though the Disney Genie components are free, the new Fastpass component is not and guests will need to pay $15 per day per person for access.
In addition to the standard Disney Genie+ front-of-the-line access options, guests will need to pay extra for premium rides and attractions. This will include rides like Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Rise of the Resistance. These are purchased in addition to the Disney Genie+ pricing and Disney World has said that the prices of these premium rides will vary depending on the days of the week and seasons but price points seem to be in the $8 – $15 range per person.
Here at MickeyBlog, we’ll continue to update you in the lead-in to the official launch of Genie+ on October 19th. Keep following along with us. We’ll keep you updated on all things Disney Genie as well as what’s going on with this “it’s a small world sign.”
