The Monorail Receives Special Nighttime Enhancement as Part of the 50th Anniversary Celebration

So many new, shiny things happened tonight at Epcot. Harmonious kicked off with a bang, Spaceship Earth shined beautifully with the new Beacons of Magic, and the monorails are lit up at night! Each train will have glowing lights that match each train’s color, spreading magic everywhere the Monorail runs across. Magic!

I think my favorite debut from tonight would have to be Beacons of Magic on Spaceship Earth. It has always been my favorite icon at Disney World and the new lighting just makes it that much better. It goes through many lighting changes. From multi-color, to special effects swirling around the ball, to all orange and all green. It’s simply amazing.

Beacons of Magic will starts around dusk each night and run every 15 minutes or so. 

Each park will debut their own Beacons of Light. Cinderella Castle illuminates the park with a dazzling glow that sparkles with pixie dust at the Magic Kingdom, the iconic Hollywood Tower Hotel at Hollywood Studios glitters with EARidescence, evoking the glimmer and shimmer of the golden age of imagination and adventure, and a warm and glorious light emanates from the Tree of Life at Animal Kingdom park, as enchanted fireflies gather to call forth the magic of nature. It’s all going to be so amazing.
