Counterfeit Disney Pins Worth $30,000 Seized In Indianapolis
Here at MickeyBlog, we’ve seen stories like this come in every once in a while. Fox26 in Indianapolis is reporting that US Customs and Border Policy seized a large shipment of counterfeit Disney Pins in the state.
The shipment of pins was expected to be in excess of $30,000 if then sold on to unsuspecting Disney fans.
As you can see, all of the pins feature Disney characters.
However, apparently they don’t represent them that well. Customs said that they were clued in to the fact that something was awry when they noticed that the pins weren’t the best quality.
The shipper was trying to move the pins across in Indiana before being identified by US Customs and deemed counterfeit.
Counterfeiting Disney items is big business! A couple of years ago, I also ran a story on a huge amount of Disney merchandise being seized in Scotland. The value of the merchandise was also estimated to come in at over $30,000.
No information as of yet has been released about any arrests. However, this is a story that we’ll continue to follow closely here at MickeyBlog and we promise to keep you posted.
