Guests Once Again Embarking On Magical Disney Dream Sailings
It’s a momentous occasion Disney friends! If you’ve been following along with MickeyBlog you’ll know that our very own MickeyBloggers Greg and Elyssa just came back from a voyage aboard the Disney Dream and I’m sure it will come as VERY little surprise when we tell you that the magic is still there!
The sailings aboard the dream this month marked a return to cruising and specifically to the Bahamas on three and four-night sailings to the Bahamas from Port Canaveral. It was such an exciting time for everyone involved that Disney captured this awesome video:
The Disney Dream is just as fun as it always was with character experiences, Broadway-caliber entertainment and who could possibly forget the stunning fireworks at sea.
If you were following along with MickeyBlog this morning than chances are you heard about new sailing protocols being put in place!? Each Disney Cruise Line sailing is tailored to our times with multiple health and safety protocols in place.
Here’s a quick recap on the latest changes:
Due to recent changes in visitation requirements from the government in The Bahamas, all sailings to the Bahamas from September 3 – November 1, 2021 will require passengers ages 12 and up to be FULLY VACCINATED before boarding. This includes Disney’s Private Island Castaway Cay.
Approved vaccines include those produced by Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson. Please note, in accordance with CDC guidelines:
- Guests who have received both doses of Moderna, Pfizer or AstraZeneca are considered fully vaccinated 14 days after the second dose has been administered.
- Guests who have received Johnson & Johnson are considered fully vaccinated 14 days after receiving one dose.
- Guests with both one dose of Moderna and one dose of Pfizer are considered fully vaccinated 14 days after the second dose.
- Guests who have received one single dose of a vector vaccine (e.g. AstraZeneca) and one single dose of a mRNA vaccine (e.g. Pfizer, Moderna) are not considered fully vaccinated.
Exciting Changes at Port Canaveral
Guests lucky enough to be sailing with Disney Cruise Line this fall will also have a chance to experience the new enhancements made to Port Canaveral. This art-deco inspired building recently a bit of an upgrade with little touches made to help improve the overall boarding experience. This includes extended covered walkways for arrivals, an expanded terminal entrance and a new passage bridge.
Disney Cruise Line remains committed to operating in a responsible way while creating magic for all on board. As our gradual phased approach continues across the fleet, we wanted to take a second to celebrate our return to sea in the U.S. with all of you.
