How Will Magic Key Reservations Book?
Magic Key is coming to Disneyland. How will reservations work for keyholders?
Just like anyone else who wants to visit Disneyland, guests with one of the four Magic Key annual passes will need to make a theme park reservation for their starting park.

Depending on the level of the pass, some dates will be restricted to keyholders. This is not so different from the legacy annual pass program.
But it’s a guess as to how many reservations Disneyland will set aside for Magic Key holders.
Timing

The legacy annual pass program has officially been retired as of August 15. Magic Key passes will go on sale this Wednesday, August 25, no earlier than 10 a.m. Pacific time.
What is the first day Magic Key holders will be able to make reservations? Don’t know yet …

Magic Key reservations
Disneyland will be able to adjust the available reservations for keyholders – and we will never know the exact levels. At Disney World there are separate reservation calendars for ticket-only guests, hotel guests and annual passholders.
Keyholders will need to make their reservations in advance like annual passholders at Walt Disney World. Disneyland will control the levels based on historic attendance levels, current weather conditions, public health orders and special events.

Park hopping will be available to keyholders, and by making reservations at both theme parks. Magic Key holders aren’t required to make reservations at both parks to hop, but hopping is subject to capacity limits.
Since Disneyland reopened on April 30, reservations at Disneyland have been booked anywhere from a week to a month in advance.
But if you look at the calendar for the rest of August and September, there is availability at both parks every day.
And at Disneyland you can only book your reservations 120 days in advance.
If keyholders find they can’t make reservations because they fill up quickly, they will voice their displeasure loudly. We will see what happens as the program is officially rolled out!
