‘Black Widow’ Deleted Scene Shows Much Different Ending
With the latest film of the MCU having been released in theatres and on Disney+, fans are now getting a look at some behind-the-scenes moments; one of these is a much different conclusion for the film, as a Black Widow deleted scene shows a much different ending.
Delayed for more than a year due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, Marvel’s Black Widow has been one of the studio’s most anticipated film releases.
Starring Scarlett Johansson in her final on-screen performance as Natasha Romanoff, the film tells the story of the assassin turned Avenger, chronicling what happened to the character between Captain America Civil War, and Avengers Infinity War.
The iconic character was one of the six original team members in Marvel’s first The Avengers film in 2012; almost a decade prior to the character’s appearances in the concluding films of Marvels Infinity Saga.
From the character’s debut in Iron Man 2 to have a leading role in two Captain America films, to finally being one of the main focuses of Marvel’s various Avengers films through the years; Natasha Romonff has etched her legacy as one of the studios most important characters.
Despite the ongoing legal issues between Scarlett Johansson and her former employer- The Walt Disney Company- Black Widow should be celebrated for her impact on the Marvel Universe, and the vitality of what a female character of her ilk to the fight for greater representation in modern film.
This deleted scene alters the ending and opts to give fans a heartwarming moment, in place of the larger, necessary, narrative developments that sure up the timeline for fans.

The originally used Black Widow ending was used to bridge the gap between the events of Civil War and INfinity War; giving fans the moment that Black Widow realizes her Avengers family needed saving.
It does well in establishing the growth in Natasha; and her willingness to return again to the second family that she has been so vital to.
The deleted scene, first released on Twitter, is reminiscent of the sequence that starts the film; as Natasha visits her family’s fake home in Ohio- this time on a motorcycle- we see children playing outside, all dressed up as different Avengers members.
At the very end, we see a young girl approach, Natasha- spring make shift gauntlets that are modeled like the gauntlets Natasha uses in the Avengers films- she gestures as if to shoot an imaginary bolt at the Avenger, with the Black Widow returning the gesture.

The Black Widow deleted scene adds depth to the character, and shows the importance that she and the Avengers have on the future of the universe.
They provide hope, they provide inspiration, and they provide a dream for young children to aspire to; that one day they all may be heroes.
Although the seen doesn’t add the same emphasis on Natasha’s second family in The Avengers as the original ending does; it more speaks to the importance of her mission, and what her second family means to the human race.
