Tropical Storm Fred, Heading Toward Orlando, Florida
This morning, forecasters say that Tropical Storm Fred may hit Orlando, Florida. According to Jayme King, Fox 35 Orlando news may issue Storm Alert Days for Saturday and Sunday.
Preparing for Tropical Storm Fred
Brian Shields with WFTV says that Florida is in “Monitor Mode” today. Forecasters are working hard to track the storm and its changes, as well as predict what it may do in the future.

Tropical Storm Fred developed late Tuesday night, and it continues to head toward the Dominican Republic. Florida is in Fred’s “cone of uncertainty,” according to Brian Shields.
Currently, Tropical Storm Fred is over the Eastern Gulf of Mexico as it draws closer to Eastern Cuba by Thursday afternoon. It may hit land at this time.
Heavy Rain for Orlando
Next, Fred may impact the Eastern Gulf by Saturday and into Monday. Therefore, Central Florida may have high rain amounts as Fred travels through.
On the current proposed track of FRED, the storm could produce quite a bit of rainfall. Accumulations from some heavy weekend rains are posted here for you. We could see less rain, or even higher amounts depending on FRED'S track and position this weekend. #FOX35STORMTEAM pic.twitter.com/gvOaYbI5p7

So, Orlando may have some flooding issues. The heaviest amount of rain could be on Saturday and continuing into Sunday and Monday.
Additionally, high winds may be concerning on Saturday. So, be prepared if you plan to visit Walt Disney World during this time.
Items to Conquer Theme Park Storms
Hence, there are some must-pack items you need in order to weather the storm in the parks. First, you need a poncho. You can purchase a poncho in the parks for about $10.00, or buy a few at a local store.
Second, either take an extra pair of socks in the park or a pair of rain-sustainable shoes. That way, you can have dry feet again once the storm passes.
Third, it is a perfect time to ride indoor attractions, watch a show or two, eat, and do some shopping during a Florida storm.
Fourth, you must have a stroller cover if you have little ones. Surely, there is nothing more uncomfortable than riding around in a wet stroller.
Finally, if you are the type of person who doesn’t mind the rain, then take advantage of it! Be daring and ride those attractions that typically have very long wait times.
Central Florida Weather
It’s always important to remember that Florida summer weather always brings rain, pretty much daily. Hopefully, you can avoid a tropical storm or hurricane, but these tips are great even for those afternoon showers.
