Cool Summer Eats, Treats and Treasures to Enjoy in Disneyland’s Downtown Disney District
Its nearly the weekend Disney friends and for those on the West Coast, if you’ve yet to pop by Downtown Disney since it reopened last month, be sure to make that top of the priority list! As you know Disneyland’s shopping and dining district began their phased reopening last month where you’ll find a mix of family-friendly restaurants (with outdoor seating), kiosks to grab a snack, shopping boutiques and more!
To give you a bit of weekend Downtown Disney inspiration, here are 10 awesome activities you won’t want to miss!
1. Try A Warm Waffle Sundae at Ballast Point Brewing Company
Head to the upper deck patio of Ballast Point and order up this delicious treat featuring a pearl sugar waffle made with vanilla bean ice cream, crumbled chocolate wafers, Victory at Sea chocolate sauce, candied walnuts and fresh berries. Disney recommends that you pair to with Ballast Point’s Victory at Sea Imperial Porter!
2. Sip On A Frosty, Frozen Lemonade at Wetzel’s Pretzels
Talk about a taste of Summer! The fresh, frosty frozen lemonades served up at Wetzel’s are a thing of beauty! Perfect for enjoying during those hot Anaheim afternoons, guests can choose between original or strawberry lemonade.
3. Bie Into a Churro Ice Cream Sandwich at California Churro
Head over to this stand where for the month of August they’re service up vanilla bean ice cream covered with two freshly-rolled crispy cereal churros!
4. Order Up a Strawberry Shortcake CrazyShake at Black Tap Craft Burgers & Shakes
Black Tap Craft Burgers & Shakes has a reputation for serving up some pretty incredible milkshake creation. This month our choice is the Strawberry Shortcake milkshake with features a strawberry shake which comes complete with a vanilla-frosted rim topped with a strawberry shortcake ice cream bar, pink & white twisty pop, whipped cream, strawberry drizzle, crumbled cake and of course a cherry. Best of all, all shakes can be made with a vegan dairy free ice cream base and lactose free whipped cream!
5. Tuck Into A Few Beignets At Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen
Three cheers for beignets! Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen and the Express location are now officially reopened. What better way to celebrate than by indulging in the classic taste of New Orleans with these delicious French donuts. They are made fresh throughout the day, are deep fried and topped with a sinful amount of powdered sugar!
6. Treat Yourself To A Pair Of Cool Shades at Sunglass Icon
Look the part during your Disneyland visit with a classic pair of Ray-Bans. You may even find styles that feature some of your favorite Disney friends!
7. Add Some Summery Pandora Charms To Your Collection
Keep those memories alive by adding to your Pandora bracelet with some cool Summery charms! Our favorite is the Pandora Passions Pave Ice Cream Cone Sapphire and CZ Charm (pictured above), the Pandora Tropical Starfish CZ Charm and the Pandora Me My Summer Sun Crystal Charm.
8. Grab Your Summer Sandals and Beach Towels at California Sole
California Sole is the place to give your feet a treat this Summer! You can slip into a comfy pair of OluKai, Reef, Sanuk, Vans or Havaianas, and add a Pura Vida bracelet for that breezy, beachy, California look. Get the Nomadix go-anywhere towel and take it with you to the beach, yoga or camping. It’s lightweight, quick-drying, sand-resistant and is made from recycled plastic bottles.
9. Complete Your Beachwear Look At Curl Surf
Make this your one-stop-shop for summertime fun! Be on the lookout for new selections from Roxy, Quiksilver, Levi’s and Billabong in addition to graphic tees, swimwear, shorts and sandals and more!
10. Pamper Yourself At Rinse Bath & Body Co.
Head over to Rinse’s kiosk at Downtown Disney where you can choose from a wide array of natural products scented with essential oils. We recommend you start with the Lavender Refreshing Spray to give your skin a bit of a spritz. Another favorite is the Peppofoot Stick to help you keep that peop in your step!
