BREAKING NEWS: Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor Opens Early and MickeyBlog is There!
Look where we are this morning Disney friends!
That’s right, our MickeyBloggers are at Magic Kingdom today where we heard a rumor that Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor may be welcoming back guests earlier than expected.
So we popped right round to the Tomorrowland attraction and guess what!? Those rumors were right!
We are so excited to share the news that you can once again hang out with your friends from Monstropolis during this interactive, comedic attraction!
It looks like we weren’t the only ones to hear the rumor. The attraction was absolutely packed this morning!
It was so nice to see so many people out to explore what we’ve always thought is a very underrated Disney attraction.
Our MickeyBloggers Greg and Elyssa arrived there at 11:50 pm where the closure signs were still out in front of the building.
Initially were were skeptical but before long, cast members were at the podium ready to open things up!
The work from the awesome teams of Cast Members was seamless this morning!
Here’s the team posting the show times for today (August 5th).
The ride is open from 12pm – 8pm.
We can also confirm that the performance times are now on the My Disney Experience app.
Just before noon the line started moving!
I don’t know how Greg and Elyssa do it but there were right there to catch that first performance!
We suspect that this line will be robust throughout the rest of the day so if you’re at the parks today, give yourself a little bit of extra time in case you need to wait in line.
Historically the Tomorrowland attraction is usually a walk-in but that might not be the case over the next few days.
Before long, there was a bustle of activity around the main entrance…
And it looks like we’re ready to go in!
Here are two of the cast members giving each other a high-five.
We have to say that at ever reopening of Disney World rides and attractions, the teams have been amazing.
Gere we are going through the indoor queue for the pre-show.
Here are more cast members beaming with excitement.
There’s no social distancing in the queues themselves but guests are required to wear masks indoors.
All of the cast members were also masked.
Our MickeyBloggers were the first ones in the pre-show area.
You really don’t realize how much you miss all of these attractions until they are closed for a pro-longed period of time.
The experience has us feeling pretty nostalgic this afternoon.
And it’s time to queue the pre-show! Hello Roz!
Here’s the one and only Mike Mwazowski
For those unfamiliar, the premise behind the attraction is that you are visiting a laugh factory in Monstropolis for a comedy show lead by Wazowski.
However, what makes this attraction absolutely magical is that Monsters Inc is big on audience interaction!
If you’ve ever experience Turtle Talk with Crush, it’s very similar.
Who knows, you might even have a chance to tell one of your favorite jokes.
We have a feeling that the theater could open at any time.
Here are our friendly cast members letting us know that it’s time to go through.
Doors are being propped open!
It isn’t long before the doors open and we are ready to go inside!
We hope that we get to see Greg and Elyssa be part of the interactive show.
As you would expect, the theater filled up and fast.
For those wondering, there is now more social distancing in the theater, but guests must continue to wear there masks.
The excitement is mounting!
We’re waiting patiently at the “Comedy Facility.”
Mike’s comedy act is about to start!
Three cheers for Mike.
Its so nice to see this show well underway again!
And the laughs were as funny as ever!
The monsters were looking particularly adorable (I mean scary) today!
Some audience members aren’t so jazzed about the audience participation element
While others absolutely embrace it!
Don’t be surprised if you become part of the show!
Inspired by the Disney and Pixar animated films Monsters, Inc. and Monsters University, this attraction scares up some monster laughs.
Here’s an orange Mike standing in front of the gates of Monsters University.
There were laughs aplenty. Our only wish? That the show was longer. We didn’t want to leave.
Before long our comedy club visit was over and it was time to exit the theater.
Here you can get a look at the lamps in front of the seats.
It looks like capturing laughs was a job well done.
Did you know? You can text your favorite joke before the lights go down and it could be used in the show! Watch Mike Wazowski’s video while you wait and listen for the instructions. Standard text messaging fees apply.
It’s back out into the parks for another fun-filled Magic Kingdom day!
Readers are encouraged to keep following along with MickeyBlog!
We’ll be coming to you from the theme parks all weekend long.
