VIDEO: Make-A-Wish And Marvel Join Forces To Make A Sound-Editing ‘Black Widow’ Wish a Reality
We absolutely love sharing some of the magical Make-A-Wish moments that Disney has helped facilitate and tonight we have one for all you Marvel fans!
Seth has loved Disney movies his whole life and is also a fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Seth also has a blood disorder but that doesn’t slow him down. As a matter of fact, he has always dreamed of working as a sound engineer in the film industry.
Through his wish, he was able to meet the sound team working on Black Widow and learn more about sound edition. Check out the video below:
This awesome experience took place in February 2020 when Seth, along with his family from Roswell Georgia had an opportunity to visit The Walt Disney Studios in Burbank California to make this important wish come true.
During his visit, Seth had an opportunity to tour the Studio lot before paying a visit to Marvel Studios’ HQ. Here Seth met the sound editing team working on Black Widow. Highlights included participating in a post-production sound mixing session. During this time, Seth sat with different sound teams to find out more about how each group contributes to the film.
“I learned how much work goes into bringing movies to life,” said Seth, as he reminisced on the most impactful aspect of his wish day with Marvel. “I gained a lot of respect for the industry.”
Back in Georgia at his high school Seth is involved with the sound crews who bring stage performances to life. “Sound became something that I could control, and my wish gave me a chance to see the industry up close and personal,” he shared.
Seth is now 20 years old and is studying audios production in collect. In addition he works at Cedar Point theme park in Ohio as an audio engineer!
In terms of Black Widow, Seth said that he went to the first showing of the film in his hometown excited to hear the final sound elements, especially in the scenes he got to work on. As a very special treat, Seth even noticed that his name had been included in the end credits as a sound intern!
Since first collaborating with Make-A-Wish back in 1980, Disney and the charity have granted over 145,000 wishes for children with critical illnesses worldwide. Today, half of all wishes granted in the US by Make-A-Wish are for Disney or other branches of the company! For more information on ways that you can support Make-A-Wish visit. wish.org/Disney.
