Tangerine Café at the Morocco Pavilion Has Reopened for Food & Wine Fest
I’ve often said that one of the most overlooked areas of Walt Disney World is the Morocco pavilion. For those that take the time to explore this area you’ll be reward with so many wonderful details that make you feel like you’re in the middle of a Moroccan market.
That’s why were excited to say that Tangierine Cafe has reopened for the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival.
Imagineer Zach Riddley took to Instagram this week to share some of the stunning architectural details you’ll find throughout this location. The Imagineering team even restored this area with a few new design details. Let’s take a closer look:

In Zach’s post he shows off a new paint scheme that is inspired by the Medinas of Morocco. When you order your food be sure to check out the glazed Moroccan plaster. Next door in the dining room you’ll find intricate patterns in rich hues of orange, gold and blue. The color palette is meant to evoke the feeling of staring at a Moroccan sunrise.
Here’s another amazing detail. According to Ridley, King Hassan the Second of Morocco actually agreed to let 23 of his personal artisans help craft the exquisite mosaics found throughout the cafe during its original construction (1983-1984.) It’s sure to stun with the bold colors, geometric patterns and carved walls.
As part of the recent renovations Imagineers added to the detailing with an authentic mosaic fountain that is simply stunning.
In addition, Riddley tells us that two new Tangerine Cafe signs are now on display above the main entrance. They are made to look like ceramic tile but are actually distressed metal panels. All of the lettering an tangerines were panted by hand!
And don’t forget about the food! This Food & Wine Festival, the Tangierine Cafe is offering a tantalizing menu of beloved Moroccan treats from falafel to pistachio cake.
