Where has the year gone Disney friends!? Today it is officially halfway to the Yuletide Season! To celebrate six months until Christmas, I thought I’d share with you six delightful reasons why it is my favorite time to visit the theme parks!
It Snows On Main Street
Though we don’t know as of yet what the status of this year’s theme park Christmas parties are, one thing we’re pretty confident about is that Disneyland and Magic Kingdom theme parks well be a snowy wonderland. There is just something so magical about walking right down the middle of Main Street U.S.A as it snows all around you.
Experiencing this magical moment should definitely be high on your bucket list.
Yuletide Eats and Treats
Whether you’re visiting Disney World or Disneyland Resorts over the holidays, one thing is for sure you’ll want to bring your appetites. Each year Disney pulls out all of the stops when it comes to culinary treats specially themed for the holiday season. From eggnog ice cream to delicious dishes from around the World, the holidays are my favorite time to dine Disney-style
Very Merrytime Sailings
Starting in December, Disney Cruise Line’s sailings undergo a holiday transformation. Know as the Very Merrytime sailings, these special sailings offer a whole host of exclusive activities including seeing characters dress up for the holidays. celebrating during Santa’s Winter Wonderland Celebration, enjoying a quiet Storytime with Mrs. Claus and so much more!
Kids will enjoy fun holiday activities specially tailored to all age groups. In addition the shops are brimming with holiday goodies! Holiday itineraries include voyages to the Bahamas and Caribbean and the fun is even extended to Disney’s private island Castaway Cay.

Festival of the Holidays
Each holidays season, EPCOT winds down its annual festivals with our favorite the Festival of the Holidays. Each year highlights of the Festival includes outdoor holiday kitchens where you can sample an array of goodies from around the world. There’s also entertainment, storytellers that teach us about different holiday traditions, a chance to meet Santa Claus and so much more.
Disney has yet to reveal when Festival of the Holidays will kick off this year but we promise to keep you posted.
The Decorations
There is nothing more magnificent than the way that Disney decorates for Christmas. Whether you’re on the East Coast, the West Coast or sailing on the high seas, you’ll be absolutely astonished at the incredible decorations We’re talking more more poinsettias than you’ve ever seen, life-sized gingerbread displays, dazzling lights, towering trees and so much more.
Trust me when I say that the holiday décor is an attraction in and of itself!
Santa!
A holiday visit to Disney wouldn’t be complete without a sighting of the man in red. You’ll find Jolly Old St. Nick at each of the theme parks as well as Disneyland’s and Walt Disney World’s shopping districts. For those lucky enough to be sailing during the holiday period Santa will fly in for a special visit right on your cruise ship!
