Did Disney Invent a New Color?
Arendelle Aqua. Millennial Pink. Briar Rose Gold. Purple Potion. Disney is known for its color trends that are often seen on coordinating Minnie ears, Spirit Jerseys, and mini backpacks amongst other things. But have you ever heard of Go Away Green or Blending Blue? If not, you aren’t the only one!
Now don’t expect to see “Go Away Green” Minnie ears or “Blending Blue” Spirit Jerseys flying off the shelves any time soon – these aren’t those kind of colors. You see, Disney actually invented these two new hues to hide things. Say what!?
Go Away Green
Go Away Green is used to virtually erase a number of unsightly objects all throughout Disney property. Construction walls, speakers, trash cans, and even the door of the elusive Club 33 all come in a nice shade of Go Away Green. It’s a sort of grayish-green, similar to that of an “army green” or “olive green”. The eye naturally wants to ignore that hue, so Guests are less likely to pay attention to the non-magical surroundings and keep their focus on the more pleasant ones.

It was even used on the exterior of the building that will soon be home to Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure. Try to spot all the areas Disney uses Go Away Green on your next visit!
Blending Blue
The lesser-known and less frequently used Blending Blue is quite interesting as well. The color was originally invented back when Disney World first came to be. It allowed Imagineers to create tall buildings (think Cinderella Castle) while naturally blending into the skyline.

We see Blending Blue all around Disney Parks today, most recently during the construction of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in EPCOT. This building is actually a twofer! Notice that the bottom half is Go Away Green while the top half is Blending Blue. Oh Disney, you never cease to amaze us.
