BREAKING: CDC Lowers Warning Level for Cruises
The CDC has officially lowered the warning level for cruises. As of June 16th, the CDC lowered the warning level from Level 4: Very High to Level 3: high.
At Level 4, the CDC stated that it was unsafe for anyone to cruise during the COVID-19 pandemic. As more of the population continues to become vaccinated, the CDC has shifted and cruises are now falling under Level 3.
Currently, the CDC has issued a warning only for travelers who are not fully vaccinated:
“CDC recommends that people who are not fully vaccinated avoid travel on cruise ships, including river cruises, worldwide. Since the virus spreads more easily between people in close quarters aboard ships, the chance of getting COVID-19 on cruise ships is high. It is especially important that people who are not fully vaccinated with an increased risk of severe illness avoid travel on cruise ships, including river cruises.” (Souce: CDC)
As the CDC lowers the warning level for cruises, we are continuing to see the return to normalcy for travel. Earlier this month we announced the Disney Cruise Line will be running test cruises beginning June 29th out of Port Canaveral. This is a great sign that U.S. cruises will soon be up and running again!
