God of Mischief Stokes Intrigue in New “Loki” Poster
The countdown to the release of Marvel’s latest edition to the MCU got a little more exciting today! The release of a new poster for the upcoming original series features the penultimate God of Mischief and a number of new characters.
The Two Sides of Loki
In the new promotional image, Loki appears in all of his disobedient glory. The image shows Loki similar to his appearance in “Thor: The Dark World.” (Remember that time when he faked his death and banished Odin while pretending to be him on the throne.)
Loki also maintains his old-school scheming look at the center of the poster in his Time Variance Authority (TVA) agent uniform.
The show will focus on Loki’s work for the TVA to fix the variances he created when he snatched the Tesseract from 2012. He disappeared after this at the conclusion of “Avengers: Endgame.”
Despite his heroic development during “Avengers: Endgame,” “Loki” star Tom Hiddleston said to expect the devious and cynical Loki of old in the new show at San Diego Comic Con in April 2019.
The mischevious Loki is set to pop in and out of historical events on Earth with one assumed goal. The TVA needs Loki to stop the variances throughout history that he caused.
The TVA Officials
Owen Wilson’s Mobius M. Mobius appears ready for his work with the TVA. This authority works to protect the flow of normal time and to prevent variant timelines. In short, the TVA essentially serves as the Marvel time cops.
The major role of TVA Judge Renslayer will be played by Gugu Mbatha-Raw. She makes her much-anticipated first MCU appearance in “Loki.”
Renslayer also happens to be the last name of MCU legend Ravonna Renslayer. In the MCU, Ravonna has intense romantic ties ties to Kang the Conqueror. Clearly, we can definitely anticpate seeing her in “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.”
English-Nigerian award-winning actress Wunmi Mosaku stands strong as Hunter B-15. Much is unknown about Hunter B-15. She is responsible for apprehending Loki at the start of the series though.
Other Prominent Characters
The TVA throwback logo Miss Minutes features on the new poster as well. One can only assume that she is more than just an image as the show twists its way through time in the MCU multiverse.
The prominent placement of the Time-Keepers on the poster offers more to ponder. Will they watch over the welfare of the multiverse? They do have the power to manipulate time.
A lack of order clearly exists. The scattered clock pieces throughout the poster have only one constant. The pieces all spell “L-O-K-I.”
I’m very excited to see this… https://t.co/6Q0oNznxcQ

The appearance of Sophia di Martino’s hooded character on the poster raises a number of possibilities. Rumored to be playing Lady Loki, di Martino’s role definitely tosses up a solid nod to an antagonist.
Show Specifics
Directed by Kate Herron and written by Michael Waldron, “Loki” premieres on Wednesday, June 9th on Disney+. This breaks from the usual Friday release date for MCU content.
Would you expect anything less from the God of Mischief’s show?
