Waiting In Line At WDW To Stay Cool
Pools present a problem for guest looking to swim at Disney World
First off, if you are not reading The Points Guy page, you’re missing out on some great information.
And we’re all looking for the best tips and tricks as we plan our Walt Disney World vacations.
However, there’s one line that I wasn’t expecting to have to wait in – a line for the pool!
New Wait Times
But, in a new article by Summer Hull entitled, “There’s a new line to wait in at Disney World you probably don’t expect,” we learn that lines for WDW’s aquatic spots are getting long.
Hull posted:
Disney World has done very well with social distancing rules and procedures throughout the pandemic since its reopening in July of 2020. The park’s efforts to keep guests physically separate from each other carries over to the pool deck, which translates to fewer available chairs and reduced capacity.
“And while this wasn’t a huge issue on my two previous pandemic-era visits to Disney World, now that both the outdoor temperatures and visitor numbers have inched higher, so too has the demand for the hotel pools.”
The author described a recent stay at the Disney Yacht Club and an attempt to stay cool at Disney Beach Club.
And I do mean an attempt to get to the pool.
Explaining The Pool Queue
The author said, “Once a Disney pool reaches capacity (and some are more likely to hit capacity than others), one of two things will happen.
“Either you’ll wait in an old-fashioned line where a group can only enter when another [party] exits… or there will be a virtual queue. Our wait to get into the pool was of the old-fashioned variety.”
Again, this was all news to me. However, it made me happy to know that Hull and her family made it into Stormalong Bay in around 15 minutes. Be sure to read the full article and explanation here.
And it also made me happy that I have access to the best Disney planning services on the planet at my disposal.
