Big Casting News As Maya Rudolph, Yvette Nicole Brown & Jayma Mays Join Disenchanted
We’ve got some awesome news for those of you who have been waiting in anticipation for a sequel to beloved Disney film Enchanted. As you know, Disney has plans for a sequel called Disenchanted which will see Patrick Dempsey, Amy Adams, Idina Menzel and James Marsden reprise their original roles!
According to a piece in DEADLINE, Maya Rudolph, Yvette Nicole Brown and Jayma Mays have all signed on for the sequel!
Disenchanted has been a long time coming and has been one of the projects people are the most excited to hear about since Disney announced that it had been given the green light during an Investor Day call last month. Alan Menken is also returning for the project.

The original film, which was released in 2007, was meant to be a satire on Disney musicals about a princess who finds herself in modern day New York City.
Deadline shared a rumor in the piece which suggests that Rudolph will be playing one of the baddies in the film with Brown and Mays perhaps playing slightly nefarious characters as well!
Adam Shankman is directing for a production start later this spring. Producers are Barry Josephson, Adams, and Barry Sonnenfeld.
The first movie grossed more that $340 million worldwide and was nominated for three Oscars in the Best Song category for Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz’s tunes “Happy Working Song,” “So Close” and “That’s How You Know.”
Rudolph is best known for her work on SNL, Brown played Shirley Bennett on NBC’s Community and also stars opposite John Stamos in the new Disney+ show Big Shot and Mays you’ll recognize from her time on Glee!
