Hippy Dippy Pool Closing For Refurbishment at Pop Century
For those planning a visit to Disney’s Pop Century Resort this spring, it is worth noting that Disney World is now posting that the main pool area at the property will be closed for refurbishment over the next few months.
Below is a copy of the official notice that appears on the DisneyWorld.com website.
As you can see, the Hippy Dippy Pool will be closed starting on February 15 and is expected to remain closed through until the end of March. Though no official reason was given for the closure, this is a VERY common time at Disney World for routine maintenance before the busier Summer crowds.
Those visiting during the closure should note that there are two additional swimming pools available on property including my favorite, the pool in the 1950s section shaped like a giant bowling pin! There is also the Computer Pool back in the 90s section which will also remain open to visitors.
Guests should also note that construction may be heard during the refurbishment though Disney advices that no work will take place between dusk and 9am.
