A Brand New Trailer and Poster Has Just Dropped For ‘Raya and the Last Dragon’ and We Are So Excited
We’ve got some exiting news for those (like me) eagerly counting down the days to premiere of ‘Raya and the Last Dragon’ which will be released on Disney+ and in Cinemas simultaneously on March 5th. Disney has just surprised with a brand new poster and trailer for their next animated film!
Let’s start by taking a look at the poster here:
What I LOVE about this poster is that it actually gives guest a first look at not only Raya (who is voice by Kelly Marie Tran) but also the Dragon Sisi voiced by Awkwafina! We do know that the dragon is a shape-shifter but in this form she’s pretty darn cute! Now for the trailer which gives us some awesome never-seen-before insights into the film!
As you can see form the trailer above, Raya and the Last Dragon promises to take viewers on an exciting, epic journey to a new fantasy world known as Kumandra. Here humans and dragons lived together in harmony ages ago before an evil force threatened the land and dragons were sacrificed to save humanity.
500 years later that same evil is back and its up to Raya, a lone warrior to track down the rumored “last dragon” to restore the fractured land. What happens next is an epic quest where Raya learns that it will take more than a dragon to save the World- it will also take trust and teamwork!
The film boasts an incredible cast! In addition to Kelly Marie Tran and Awkwafina, Gemma Chan stars as Raya’s nemesis, Namaari, Daniel Dae Kim is Raya’s visionary father, Benja; Sandra Oh is Raya’s powerful mother, Virana, Benedict Wong is tong, the formidable giant; Izaac Wang is Boun, a 10-year-old entrepreneur, Thalia Tran is the mischievous toddler Little Noi, Alan Tudyk is Tuk Tuk, Raya’s best friend and noble steed; Lucille Soon plays Dang Hu a leader of a land known as Talon, Patti Harrison is the chief of Tail land and Ross Butler is the chief of Spine land.
The film is directed by Paul Briggs and Dean Wellins (Big Hero 6, Frozen) with Osnat Shurer (Moana) producing. The script was penned by Adele Kim (Crazy Rich Asians.)
