New Disney Gift Card Site Will Not Launch Until February 3rd
Back in November, we here at MickeyBlog reported that the DisneyGiftCard.com was being re-vamped. The change is to better integrate the Disney Gift Card site with other Disney pages including Disney+ and shopDisney. These changes were initially meant to go into effect on January 21,2021. However, Disney updated their website this weekend to announced that launch date for the new site is being pushed back until February 3, 2021.
Take a look at the official notification from the Disney+ website .
Once the new site goes live on February 3rd, guests will be able to utilize your existing Disney account to login That means it will be the same password you’d use when logging into your Disney+ account, My Disney Experience or shopDisney.
Before the site launches, Disney Gift Card holders are advised to take the following steps:
- Have access to your Disney Gift Card(s), including your full 16-digit account number and EAN to add your card(s) onto the updated website.
- Starting February 3, 2021, please visit DisneyGiftCard.com to create a new account, or use your existing Disney account login, and enter your gift card(s) information into the My Cards section.
In the past, the Disney Gift Card website has been a valuable resource for guests looking to combine balances (of up to $1000) onto one card number making it easier to keep track of funds. When the site relaunches next week all information previously kept on the system will be deleted and guest MUST RENTER your Gift Card Details. Its always important to keep your physical cards handy. In the event of a refund whether that be on merchandise or a vacation package Disney will always refund back to your exact form of payment. Its important to make sure that refund isn’t sent through to a gift card you’ve since discarded.
Just to clarify, here are the answers to common questions about the switch over:
Will my saved cards transfer over to the new site?
No, as mentioned above, all existing DisneyGiftCard.com account details (logins and gift cards added) will no longer be available as of February 3, 2021. As a reminder, your account on DisneyGiftCard.com is not a mobile wallet and should not be considered as such. Always be sure to keep your physical and digital Disney Gift Card(s) with you as it will be required to make any purchases.
Where did my saved cards information go?
With the update to the DisneyGiftCard.com website, all current account information will be deleted and no longer be available as of February 3, 2021.
What do I do if I don’t have the card that I have saved on the website?
If you are no longer in possession of your physical or digital Disney Gift Card(s) that are currently on your account, you will need to transfer the balance(s) to a Disney Gift Card that you do have available. Please keep in mind that the total balance allowed on a single card is $1,000. If you don’t have another card to transfer to, please Contact Us and provide the original gift card(s) proof of purchase.
Can I use the updated website to access my cards to use as payment?
DisneyGiftCard.com does not serve as a mobile wallet and should not be considered as such. As a reminder, be sure to keep your physical and digital Disney Gift Card(s) with you as it will be required to make any purchases.
We hope to know more about the functionality of the new Disney Gift Card site over the next week. Readers are encouraged to continue to follow along with MickeyBlog for further news and updates!
