Most Popular Disney Plus Shows Revealed and Mandalorian ISN’T No. 1
With more people indoors in 2020 than ever, it’s not surprising that Disney+ had a banner year! If you’ve been following along with MickeyBlog you’ll know that Disney’s streaming network in its inaugural year surpassed expectations racking in over 87 million subscribers worldwide.
But what these subscribers were watching may surprise you! What’s On Disney Plus compiled an awesome end-of-the-year list of the most watched shows on Disney+ in 2020. Let’s take a look:
And the Winner Is…
- The Simpsons
- Mickey Mouse Clubhouse
- Star Wars: The Mandalorian
- Jessie
- Star Wars: The Clone Wars
- Phineas & Ferb
- Once Upon A Time
- Puppy Dog Pals
- Star Wars: Rebels
- Marvel’s Agents of Shield
- The Right Stuff
- The Wonderful World Of Mickey Mouse
- Hannah Montana
- A.N.T Farm
- Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian
- Oye Golu
- Good Luck Charlie
- Magic Of Disney’s Animal Kingdom
- Into The Unknown: Making Frozen 2
- Mickey Mouse
- On Pointe
- Doc McStuffins
- Bluey
- Muppets Now
- The Imagineering Story
Though we were initially surprised to see Homer, Bart and the rest of the Springfield gang take the top spot on this list there are over 600 episodes of The Simpsons currently available to stream on Disney+ making it a pretty strong contender for the reigning family of Disney’s streaming networking!
The top 10’s are a little bit different by country. Let’s take a look at who had the top spots on Disney+ in the US in 2020:
Here is a look at the top 10 shows for the United States in 2020:
- The Simpsons
- Mickey Mouse Clubhouse
- Jessie
- Star Wars: The Clone Wars
- Star Wars: The Mandalorian
- Phineas & Ferb
- Puppy Dog Pals
- Once Upon A Time
- A.N.T Farm
- Bluey
Coming in at Number 3 on the Worldwide Chart and 5 on the US Chart, Star Wars: The Mandalorian was (unsurprisingly) the most popular Disney+ original series of the year. Star Wars continues to be a really strong franchise for Disney with The Clone Wars, Rebels, and Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian all appearing in the worldwide top 25.
Shows like Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Jessie also attest to the streaming network’s appeal to younger audiences and NOT just for movies. And if other kids are anything mine, you’ll know that kids love streaming their favorite episodes over and over again.
An area that did surprise us was the popularity of Disney’s docu-series line-up. Programs like the Magic of Disney’s Animal Kingdom and the Imagineering Story had strong worldwide appeal with both appearing in the Top 25!
Here’s to another incredible year of Disney+ programming! Readers are encouraged to keep following along with MickeyBlog for all of the incredible shows coming your way in 2021.
