Disney Confirms ‘Children of Blood and Bone’ Film In Development by Lucasfilm
During Disney’s Investor’s Day on Thursday, Lucasfilm announced a whole host of incredible series and films currently in the works. As you can expect, the presentation of very Star Wars heavy with nearly a dozen new projects in the pipeline. However, there were some awesome non-Star Wars surprises as well including the news that Disney still intents to move forward with their adaptation of Children of Blood and Bone.
For those unfamiliar, Children of Blood and Bone is the New York Times-bestselling novel from Tomi Adeyemi which follows heroine Zelie Adebola as she attempts to bring magic (which is banned) back to her kingdom of Orisha. The book is the first in a triology of which the sequel Children of Virtue and Vengeance has also been released.

Though few details regarding the project have emerged, we do know Dope director Rick Famuyiwa was originally slated to helm the film but there’s been know further news about whether he’s still on board. As ScreenRant tells us, Famuyiwa most recently directed several episodes of The Mandalorian also under the Lucasfilm umbrella.
