Mando 2: Who Might We See On Screen
Is Ahsoka Tano a sure thing for The Mandalorian, Season 2?
We’re just hours from the release of The Mandalorian, Season 2. But even before Chapter 9 hits screens early this morning, the speculation about this season’s plot has been dizzying.
So much so, that EW.com devoted a full issue and a whole lot of bytes to Baby Yoda, Mando, and the rest of the cast and crew.
James Hibberd (of course) has the scoop on who we might see grace our streams in Season 2:
Ahsoka [Tano] is all-but-confirmed to appear in season 2 played by Rosario Dawson (Sin City).
Presumably, she has a role to play in Mando’s attempt to get The Child to his “own kind,” the Jedi, even though Ahsoka has lapsed from the Order and most of the Jedi are presumably all scattered or dead.
Other actors reportedly coming to The Mandalorian season 2 (though likewise not confirmed by Disney) include Temuera Morrison (who played Jango Fett in the prequels) playing presumably some version of iconic bounty hunter Boba Fett, Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica) as a live-action version of Mandalorian warrior (and previous Darksaber holder) Bo-Katan Kryze, and also Michael Biehn (The Terminator) and Timothy Olyphant (Justified) as unknown characters.
Star Wars Canon Expands With The Mandalorian
Hibberd’s mention of all of these rumored castings lends credence to the many stories dropped on the shadow crew speculated to join in on the fun of The Mandalorian.
And now, some of that fun will be to see how many more interconnected threads there are between The Mandalorian and the theatrical releases.
Over on TheVerge.com, Chaim Gartenberg concurred and added:
Shows like The Mandalorian or the upcoming Rogue One or Obi-Wan spinoffs aren’t going to be spectacles on the level of a massive Star Wars film. But they will provide a chance for Lucasfilm (and fans) to delve deeper into the characters that they already love and help provide a bridge that enriches the overall Star Wars universe for whenever the next films do roll around.
In the meantime, just a glimpse of Ahsoka Tano might just make the season for everyone.
