The All-New Disney Wish Will Set Sail Beginning Summer 2022
As we previously reported, delivery of Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship, the Disney Wish, was delayed. We were originally hoping to set sail on the Wish in the early part of 2022. But, when Early 2022 Disney Cruise Line itineraries were released yesterday, we were disappointed to not see the Wish on there.
However, Disney Cruise Line has updated us when Guests will be able to take that maiden voyage on the Disney Wish – Summer 2022!

Once complete, the Disney will be powered by liquefied natural gas or LNG, one of the cleanest-burning fuels available. The ship will measure in at 144,000 gross tons and have 1,250 Guests staterooms. The ship will be a tad larger than the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy.
Other than knowing that the Disney Wish will begin to set sail in Summer 2022, there are still a bunch of unknowns. While we do believe that the Wish will call Port Canaveral, Florida home, it is unknown what itineraries it will offer and where it will sail to.

Currently, the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy call Port Canaveral home year round. The Dream usually offers three and four night cruises to the Bahamas while the Fantasy usually takes Guests on week-long voyages to the Caribbean. Rumor has it that there will be a total of three Disney Cruise Line ships based in Port Canaveral which likely means that the Dream and Fantasy will stay and the Wish will join the two.
The Disney Wish is not the only new cruise ship to join the Disney Cruise Line fleet! Two new cruise ships in addition to the Wish have been ordered and I except them to make their maiden voyages in 2023 and 2024.
