So How Busy Are The Crowds at Magic Kingdom Today?
So exactly how busy are the theme parks today? If you’ve been following along with MickeyBlog then you know that today marks the start of Walt Disney World’s gradual reopening. Cast Member previews are happening both at the Magic Kingdom and the Animal Kingdom. As you’ve been following along with us this morning, a question many of you have asked is exactly how busy the parks are.
The answer to that question is not very, but let’s take a closer look:
This shot was taken not too long ago from the Town Square area of the Magic Kingdom. As you can see, there was a lot of wide-open space which is a rarity!
During the cavalcades we managed to photograph earlier today, the crowds were minimal.
Main Street itself was also pretty empty but you can see a bit of a crowd up at the HUB area.
The usually bustling Main Street Confectionary was unusually quiet.
This shot was taken inside the Emporium!
There were a few cast members looking to stock up on some Disney goodies but not many!
Join us on our quiet stroll through Liberty Square!
And here we are walking into Frontierland!
The most people we saw for sure was at the Splash Mountain gift shop where cast members were stocking up on the attraction-themed merchandise. As we previously reported, this ride will soon be reimagined as a new Princess and the Frog ride!
This My Disney Experience app was back to showing wait times earlier this morning and here’s what it looked like.
As you can see, the longest line just before lunch was the Jungle Cruise coming in at about 35 minutes with Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain not too far behind. These were the longest wait times we encountered with most attractions around the 5-10 minute mark!
The wait times over at Animal Kingdom give us a pretty good indication that most of the cast members opted to visit Magic Kingdom today. Wait times over at the park were quite a bit shorter. The longest was DINOSAUR which came in at about 15 minutes.
We reckon this will be the first and only time that you see a 5-minute queue for Flight of Passage!
There were still several rides closed including TriceraTop Spin, Kali River Rapids and Expedition Everest.
It will be interesting to see what the crowd sizes are like when passholder previews kick off this week! Keep following along with MickeyBlog where we’ll be coming to you from Walt Disney World all week!
