BREAKING NEWS: Disney Releases Updates on Intern and College Programs For Disneyland and Disney World
Disney just took to Twitter to release details about their internship and partnership programs in light of the COVID-19 virus. There were two announcements one for Disneyland Resort and another for Walt Disney World that are largely the same.
According to the memos, the College Program will not be on offer for the foreseeable future and those already enrolled are being notified. Let’s take a look.
As you can see from the official Disneyland statement above, Disney does not yet have an opening date for the theme parks or hotels and as they say in the statement the have not yet determined when things will reopen. With that in mind, Disneyland has made the decision to suspend the College Program until further notice. Disney is withdrawing their offer of employment to those already chosen for the program and will refund program fees.
The company also announced that they will be making changes to their eligibility requirements so that those that graduating may still apply.
Just above is the version of those Walt Disney World college program enrollees. The news is largely the same though Disney World’s reasoning is that they currently do not have plans to reopen the student housing on the premises. With that in mind Disney World is also cancelling the program, rescinding offers of employment and refunding program fees.
Without the extra staffing provided by the College Program employees, there are many questions regarding staffing of parks, special events and more. This is a development that we’ll continue to follow closely. Please keep checking in with us here at MickeyBlog for the latest news and updates.
