Dad Makes Incredible Disney-inspired Gowns and Costumes For His Family

Garcia started working as a dressmaker at the young age of eleven when he lived in the Phillippines. When he initially moved to the U.S. he left his hobby behind but on his wedding day when he made his wife’s bridal gown he decided to get back into it.

Years later, when he took his 4-year-old daughter to Disneyland, he created a fairy godmother dress from for her and the rest is history.

Though initially working in the fashion industry stateside, Garcia made the decision to leave his work behind and make his hobby of making an awesome, whimsical wardrobe his full-time job.
“My wife told me, ‘We have literally nothing to lose. Why not do it now?’” Garcia told the L.A. Times. “This literally saved us from where we were at.”

Garcia took to social media and created his Designer Daddy account to showcase his designs. Many of the shots are taken at Disneyland. Word of his garments went viral and now he owns is own design studio in Anaheim. He also expanded his creations to include outfits inspired by Sonic the Hedgehog, and Toy Story.
